The Missing Canterbury Tale

Someone recently asked me about Chaucer , the Canterbury Tales, the famous illustration below and the missing 25th tale from 1400.

Has it got anything to do with us I was asked?

Now that would be a tale to tell now wouldn't it.

Miku's thoughts

Verily, good Richard, thou art a right noble cock,
Thy crow doth pierce the morn as smiteth flint on rock.
Thy feathers glisten as the noonday sunne doth blaze,
A cock of courtly manner and most gallant ways.
Yet lo! Thy dobro, gleaming like the stars above,
Plays sweeter notes than Philomel's sad song of love.
If I were bard of olde with quill in hand ysped,
Thy plumage and thine strings alike would both be wed—
In verse so bold, it echoeth down the hall
Of time, where cocks and dobroes reigneth over all.

The Tee Shirt

From Maharaja Rich "I wasn't planning on doing this pic as a tee shirt. Who would want it?
Oh Miku of course. And my daughters. OK what do I know. It's a tee shirt now. I have to admit it looks pretty good."
