Which Witch?

Image
Maharaja Rich leaned back on his velvet cushions, stroking his chin with the seriousness of a man contemplating the mysteries of the cosmos. “Tell me, Miku,” he said at last, “if two witches would watch two watches… which witch would watch which watch?” Maharaja Miku the Bard did not answer immediately. He tapped his bass, once, twice, as though tuning his thoughts. Then, with a sly smile, he began: “Ah, my Maharaja friend  Watch the watch that ticks to which witch’s twitch.   For every tick that meets a twitch,   And every tock that finds its twin,   We’ll know which witch will watch which watch The twitching witch’s watch will win.” Rich blinked. “So the witch with the twitch watches the watch that ticks to her twitch?” “Precisely,” Miku replied, adding a quick bass run for dramatic effect. “A witch without a twitch would watch a watch without a hitch. But a twitching witch must match her watch, lest time itself grow confused.” Rich considered this g...

A Christmas poem to Maharaja Rich from Anna

Image
Roses are red   Maharajas are blue   Boy oh boy   Do I have a story for you... One dark Christmas night   Mississippi shining bright   A flamingo stretched a wing   And softly began to sing. The notes they rang out soft   And through the air began to waft   A tune so sad and blue   But a rhythm so wild and new Something in the air shifted   And as the moonlight drifted   A portal awoke   Through it, the Maharajas spoke "I have lost my palace   And he has lost his palace too" They looked at the flamingo:   "We thought we'd come and stay with you." The flamingo seemingly from air   Found a bass guitar without a care   All of time and space went stiff   As he pulled off one sick riff. The tabla was banging   The harmonica jamming   Tonight once more, we are lucky to see   The Maharaja Blues se...

Maharaja Blues at the Bouffantia Basin

Image
Maharaja Blues performing live on Dalí’s surreal custard stage at Bouffantia Basin in Flamingolandia. Here is the report from the Nonsense Chronicle. 🦩 The Nonsense Chronicle Filed by: The Nonsense Chronicler Pink Flamingo   Bouffantia Basin, Flamingolandia — Special Dispatch Filed under: Surreal Stages, Animal Bands, and Gelatinous Reverberations Prologue: A Flamingo’s Perspective Darling readers, allow me — a pink flamingo with quills dipped in raspberry ink — to recount the most wobblicious, custard-splattered spectacle ever witnessed. Maharaja Blues took to Dalí’s Surreal Custard Stage, and I, perched elegantly upon a breadstick stilt, chronicled every wobble, warble, and cherry rain. Chapter I: The Custard Stage Quivers The stage itself was a trembling pudding palace, golden and glistening, reshaping into melting clocks whenever the bass growled. Bouffantia Basin, a lagoon of whipped cream and flamingo feathers, served as the audience pit, its surface reflecting both moo...

Electric lines from Miku’s paws,   Dixon’s upright answered with bluesy jaws.   Grooves entwined like myth and lore,   A dialogue carved in rhythmic roar. Howlin’ Wolf, a storm of sound,   Growled the blues that shook the ground.   His voice, a train through midnight dark,   Lit the room with lightning sparks. Three souls bound in rhythm’s flame,   No one asked from whence they came.   Just the beat, the sweat, the roar—   A gig that bent the mythic score. Then morning came, the kettle hissed,   Miku stirred from smoky mist.   Was...

Monochrome Mondays

Image
🦩Monochrome Monday with Chaplin & The Nonsense Chronicler Pink Flamingo  In grayscale dawn, with feathers neat,  Pink tiptoed down a cobbled street.  A bowler hat, a cane in wing,  He mimed the moon and tried to sing.  Chaplin chuckled, eyes aglow,  “Let’s film a dance in silent snow.”  They twirled through takes, both bird and man,  A flamingo’s flair, a comic plan. No colour needed, just heart and grace—  Two timeless souls in black-and-white space.  🦩 Maharaja blues with Memphis Minnie. In a cellar stitched from velvet dusk,   Where lanterns swing and secrets musk,   The tiger taps with regal grace,   Tabla thunder in smoky space.   The fox, sly-eyed, with breath so lean,   Draws sorrow from his silver reed—   A harmonica hymn, half-lost, half-found,   Like whispers stitched to underground.   The rooster struts with steel in hand,   H...

Transformations, a Post Halloween tale

Image
The Pumpkin Unseals In the velvet hush of a Halloween night, a pumpkin split with a sulphurous light. From out its rind crept Ozzydog, teeth fluorescent yellow, purple shades flashing, a cross swinging low. The Maharajas dreamed of calm refrain, but the dog’s growl rewired their brain. Strings bent backward, rhythms bled, as shadows howled where angels fled. Maharaja Miku’s fur turned aflame, his bass now thundered a dark refrain. And Rich, once keeper of resonant grace, laid down his steel with a solemn face. He lifted instead a Strat, tones black as sin, with six-six-six pedals all chained in. Each stomp tore holes in the fabric of time, each chord a fracture, each note a crime. The streetlamps swirled into Gogh’s mad sky, stars spun whirlpools, galaxies cried. Cobblestones melted, clocks ran wild, the world itself became defiled. Yet in the chaos, a strange refrain: a hymn of loss, of joy, of pain. For even nightmares sing their song, and in distortion, we belong. Paintings fr...

A Very Happy Diwali from the Maharaja Blues

Image
The Maharaja's Diwali Anthem  By lamp and lute, by drum and flame, The Maharajas rise in festive frame A tiger taps the tabla’s beat, Whilst a fox with a harmonica skips down the street. A rooster strums his resonant tune, A bear with a bass thumps under the moon. Their robes aglow with golden thread, They sing of light where darkness fled. “O friends of fire, of spark and song, Come dance with us, the night is long! Let every diya blaze with cheer, For hood shall triumph year by year.” No gate too closed, no heart too small This Diwali, we welcome all. From alley cat to cosmic train, From bureaucrat to bard insane. We light the skies with saffron sparks, We mend the world with joyous marks. A year ahead, so full, so bright Of kindness, courage, love, and light. So raise your voice, your lamp, your paw, And sing with us in festive awe. The Maharajas wish you grace and glee A Diwali of wild harmony! The Rooster’s Raga of Radiance The Rooster, bedecked in crimson silk with golden emb...

The Quantum Encore Monologue

Image
The Quantum Encore   A monologue by Maharaja Richie the Rooster  hatched at the edge of the Anti-Delta when feeling the blues deeply beneath a flickering lamppost shaped like a flamingo bassoon! This was witnessed and recorded on a quadraphone by an elusive bear, face hidden behind shades with a bass in his claws. So you want the Encore, do you?   The one that plays when no one claps?   When the fog’s too thick for applause,   And the noodles are tangled in regret? I’ve seen it. Heard it.   Played it once on my resonator,   A six-stringed beast tuned to heartbreak and Old Fashioneds.   PI Barry Noir went white.   Madame Fuchsia danced with a spoon. They say I crow too loud for paradox.   But I was born in the Anti-Delta,   Where the blues don’t mourn, they merely misremember.   Where rivers run backward   And harmonicas bleed Penderyn whisky. My resonator? ...

The Bewitching Triology in 4 Parts - Part 5

Image
Part 4 Part 1 Jonathan the Fox Here’s a tale of wonder and mystery, of gentle Jonathan the Fox, he who tapped into the songs of the woods, he who could make his harmonica sing to newts and axolotls  and turn frogs back to spawn, he of the gentle smile who always changed from the gentlest of morning breezes to a wild gale when performing, he of the hills and valleys whose force was strong within, he who unknowingly was born to fix that that greatest of glitches, the Curse of the Witch Panda! Here’s to the origin tale of Gentle Jon the Fox—a mythic melody in fur and breath, whose harmonica held the power to stir ponds and seal cosmic wounds. Let us travel in his paw prints and learn how his mystery meets music and destiny hums beneath the hedgerows. The Ballad of Gentle Jon the Fox: A Woodland Prelude in Whispering Harmonica Before the glitch, before the brew, Before the stags in rhythmic queue There lived a fox in hills so wide, Where morning mists and secrets hide. Jon the Fox, wit...

The Bewitching Triology in 4 Parts - Part 4

Image
Part 3 The Chapati Cataclysm of Cardiff : Bass-Laced Ballad in Anti-Griddle Time It began with a burp in the fabric of fate, A Son House riff slipped past the quantum gate. The Witch Panda’s brew, still bubbling with blues, Sent a glitch through time with improbable cues. Miku the Bear, in his lab of delight, Had built the Chapati Collider just right To fold flatbreads through wormholes with flair, And serve them hot in dimensions rare. But the glitch struck hard, with a syncopated bang, And the collider coughed out a nano particle gang. Zillions of anti chapatis burst forth in a flash, Each one programmed for a Cardiff curry clash. They zipped down City Road with a sizzling hiss, Seeking chapatis to neutralise in bliss. Curry houses trembled, naan fled in fear, As chutney shields melted and samosas disappeared. “It’s a culinary apocalypse!” cried a chef in despair, “The breads are unbaking right out of thin air!” Miku, majestic in his bass grooved coat, Heard the chaos and cleared his...

The Bewitching Triology in 4 Parts - Part 3

Part 2 The Tale of Maharaja Satinder and the Unfixable Glitch: A Cosmic Raga in Reverse Harmonica Minor One dusky night beneath a banyan of stars, Tuk Tuk the tabla tortoise, keeper of scars, Heard the echo of celestial beats long gone Rhythms once pure, now fractured and withdrawn. He gazed at a baby tiger, striped with fate, Eyes wide as moons, heart syncopate. Into this cub, Tuk Tuk poured his lore, Metronomic pulses from rhythm’s core. “Grow strong, little Satinder,” he whispered low, “Let your paws tap time where no clocks go.” And grow he did, into Maharaja Satinder the Tiger, Whose claws could count tala like a cosmic cipher. His tabla roared with precision divine, Each beat a balm, each rhythm a spine. Around him, the Maharaja Blues swelled and soared, A kingdom of cadence, richly restored. But the glitch, ah, the damned glitch, still danced in the void, A wrinkle in rhythm that could not be destroyed. It twisted tempos in distant lands, Bent lullabies with invisible hands. Eve...

The Bewitching Trilogy in 4 Parts - part 2

Image
Part 1 The Temporal Glitch of the Witch Panda’s Brew; A Saga Syncopated in Cosmic 7¾ Time By Maharaja Miku the Bard Bear 🐻  The Witch Panda, wise and whimsical, stirred with care, But fate, that prankster, slipped in a vinyl snare. Son House’s album, meant for midnight listening Plopped into the cauldron, uninvited, glistening. The potion burbled, the forest blinked, Time hiccupped once… then twice… then plinked. Across galaxies, rhythms began to fray Beats bent sideways, tempos lost their way. Drummers on Saturn dropped their sticks in despair, While Martian choirs sang in asymmetric air. The glitch spread fast, a syncopated curse, Warping lullabies and reversing verse. But not all was lost in this rhythmic doom For jazz cats and tabla sages found room. They danced with the glitch, embraced the skew, Inventing new meters no metronome knew. “Ta dhin ta… wait, was that a 5½ beat?” “No, brother, it’s the Witch Panda’s heat!” Maharaja Rich, now fully bewitched, Woke nightly to rhythm...

The Bewitching Trilogy in 4 Parts - part 1

Prequel The Bewitching of Maharaja Richie Red The Rooster  By Maharaja Miku the Bard Bear 🐻  In the days when Rich was a princeling spry, With a crown made of twigs and a glint in his eye, He wandered too far from the palace of jam, Into woods where the mushrooms whispered, “Scram!” The trees grew thick with Witch Hazel’s grin, He tripped on a root and tumbled right in Down a slope of ferns, green as envy’s face, Where the moss sang jazz and the spores kept pace. He rolled past a squirrel who played the kazoo, Past a fox in socks sipping nettle brew, Till he landed kerplunk by a bubbling pot, Where the Witch Panda stirred her spellful lot. She wore a robe stitched from bamboo dreams, Her cauldron hissed with musical steam. She tossed in frog spawn, a bat polished bright, And a Son House record “Death Letter” for plight. The brew went boom, the brew went bang, It fizzed like funk in a gospel gang. She ladled a sip to the dazed young Rich, Who drank it down with a hiccup and tw...

Pink Flamingo in the House of Swirls

Image
Pink Flamingo, time-tossed bard, Tripped through clocks and landed hard In Holland’s hush, where madness dwelled A painter’s lair, where silence yelled. Thick ginger hair, a glint of a strange kind, Eyes ablaze with storms of mind, “Drink this tea,” the artist said, And Pink obeyed, now filled with dread. A chair, a brush, a canvas wide, Swirls erupted, bold with pride. Pink sat still, but in his head Saxophones danced, syncopated red. Outside, the world was deaf to tune, Too dull for jazz beneath the moon. The painter sighed, his soul unfurled, And stepped alone into the world Sad and swirling, starry eyed, Lonely as the night he cried. Pink remained, a painted spark, A relic glowing in the dark. by Maharaja Miku the Bard Bear 🐻  pink flamingo van gogh chair tee shirt The journey didn’t end there of course. Pink lured Vincent into the swirl dimension with a trail of pastry steam and whispered brushstrokes that painted themselves on the wind. A sunflower formed a portal and Vincen...
