Maharaja Blues at the Bouffantia Basin

Image
Maharaja Blues performing live on Dalí’s surreal custard stage at Bouffantia Basin in Flamingolandia. Here is the report from the Nonsense Chronicle. 🦩 The Nonsense Chronicle Filed by: The Nonsense Chronicler Pink Flamingo   Bouffantia Basin, Flamingolandia — Special Dispatch Filed under: Surreal Stages, Animal Bands, and Gelatinous Reverberations Prologue: A Flamingo’s Perspective Darling readers, allow me — a pink flamingo with quills dipped in raspberry ink — to recount the most wobblicious, custard-splattered spectacle ever witnessed. Maharaja Blues took to Dalí’s Surreal Custard Stage, and I, perched elegantly upon a breadstick stilt, chronicled every wobble, warble, and cherry rain. Chapter I: The Custard Stage Quivers The stage itself was a trembling pudding palace, golden and glistening, reshaping into melting clocks whenever the bass growled. Bouffantia Basin, a lagoon of whipped cream and flamingo feathers, served as the audience pit, its surface reflecting both moo...

Maharaja Miku Smokestacking

Electric lines from Miku’s paws,   Dixon’s upright answered with bluesy jaws.   Grooves entwined like myth and lore,   A dialogue carved in rhythmic roar. Howlin’ Wolf, a storm of sound,   Growled the blues that shook the ground.   His voice, a train through midnight dark,   Lit the room with lightning sparks. Three souls bound in rhythm’s flame,   No one asked from whence they came.   Just the beat, the sweat, the roar—   A gig that bent the mythic score. Then morning came, the kettle hissed,   Miku stirred from smoky mist.   Was...

The Quantum Encore Monologue

Image
The Quantum Encore   A monologue by Maharaja Richie the Rooster  hatched at the edge of the Anti-Delta when feeling the blues deeply beneath a flickering lamppost shaped like a flamingo bassoon! This was witnessed and recorded on a quadraphone by an elusive bear, face hidden behind shades with a bass in his claws. So you want the Encore, do you?   The one that plays when no one claps?   When the fog’s too thick for applause,   And the noodles are tangled in regret? I’ve seen it. Heard it.   Played it once on my resonator,   A six-stringed beast tuned to heartbreak and Old Fashioneds.   PI Barry Noir went white.   Madame Fuchsia danced with a spoon. They say I crow too loud for paradox.   But I was born in the Anti-Delta,   Where the blues don’t mourn, they merely misremember.   Where rivers run backward   And harmonicas bleed Penderyn whisky. My resonator? ...

The Bewitching Triology in 4 Parts - Part 5

Image
Part 4 Part 1 Jonathan the Fox Here’s a tale of wonder and mystery, of gentle Jonathan the Fox, he who tapped into the songs of the woods, he who could make his harmonica sing to newts and axolotls  and turn frogs back to spawn, he of the gentle smile who always changed from the gentlest of morning breezes to a wild gale when performing, he of the hills and valleys whose force was strong within, he who unknowingly was born to fix that that greatest of glitches, the Curse of the Witch Panda! Here’s to the origin tale of Gentle Jon the Fox—a mythic melody in fur and breath, whose harmonica held the power to stir ponds and seal cosmic wounds. Let us travel in his paw prints and learn how his mystery meets music and destiny hums beneath the hedgerows. The Ballad of Gentle Jon the Fox: A Woodland Prelude in Whispering Harmonica Before the glitch, before the brew, Before the stags in rhythmic queue There lived a fox in hills so wide, Where morning mists and secrets hide. Jon the Fox, wit...

The Bewitching Triology in 4 Parts - Part 4

Part 3 The Chapati Cataclysm of Cardiff : Bass-Laced Ballad in Anti-Griddle Time It began with a burp in the fabric of fate, A Son House riff slipped past the quantum gate. The Witch Panda’s brew, still bubbling with blues, Sent a glitch through time with improbable cues. Miku the Bear, in his lab of delight, Had built the Chapati Collider just right To fold flatbreads through wormholes with flair, And serve them hot in dimensions rare. But the glitch struck hard, with a syncopated bang, And the collider coughed out a nano particle gang. Zillions of anti chapatis burst forth in a flash, Each one programmed for a Cardiff curry clash. They zipped down City Road with a sizzling hiss, Seeking chapatis to neutralise in bliss. Curry houses trembled, naan fled in fear, As chutney shields melted and samosas disappeared. “It’s a culinary apocalypse!” cried a chef in despair, “The breads are unbaking right out of thin air!” Miku, majestic in his bass grooved coat, Heard the chaos and cleared his...

Part 2 The Tale of Maharaja Satinder and the Unfixable Glitch: A Cosmic Raga in Reverse Harmonica Minor One dusky night beneath a banyan of stars, Tuk Tuk the tabla tortoise, keeper of scars, Heard the echo of celestial beats long gone Rhythms once pure, now fractured and withdrawn. He gazed at a baby tiger, striped with fate, Eyes wide as moons, heart syncopate. Into this cub, Tuk Tuk poured his lore, Metronomic pulses from rhythm’s core. “Grow strong, little Satinder,” he whispered low, “Let your paws tap time where no clocks go.” And grow he did, into Maharaja Satinder the Tiger, Whose claws could count tala like a cosmic cipher. His tabla roared with precision divine, Each beat a balm, each rhythm a spine. Around him, the Maharaja Blues swelled and soared, A kingdom of cadence, richly restored. But the glitch, ah, the damned glitch, still danced in the void, A wrinkle in rhythm that could not be destroyed. It twisted tempos in distant lands, Bent lullabies with invisible hands. Eve...

The Bewitching Trilogy in 4 Parts - part 2

Part 1 The Temporal Glitch of the Witch Panda’s Brew; A Saga Syncopated in Cosmic 7¾ Time By Maharaja Miku the Bard Bear 🐻  The Witch Panda, wise and whimsical, stirred with care, But fate, that prankster, slipped in a vinyl snare. Son House’s album, meant for midnight listening Plopped into the cauldron, uninvited, glistening. The potion burbled, the forest blinked, Time hiccupped once… then twice… then plinked. Across galaxies, rhythms began to fray Beats bent sideways, tempos lost their way. Drummers on Saturn dropped their sticks in despair, While Martian choirs sang in asymmetric air. The glitch spread fast, a syncopated curse, Warping lullabies and reversing verse. But not all was lost in this rhythmic doom For jazz cats and tabla sages found room. They danced with the glitch, embraced the skew, Inventing new meters no metronome knew. “Ta dhin ta… wait, was that a 5½ beat?” “No, brother, it’s the Witch Panda’s heat!” Maharaja Rich, now fully bewitched, Woke nightly to rhythm...

Prequel The Bewitching of Maharaja Richie Red The Rooster  By Maharaja Miku the Bard Bear 🐻  In the days when Rich was a princeling spry, With a crown made of twigs and a glint in his eye, He wandered too far from the palace of jam, Into woods where the mushrooms whispered, “Scram!” The trees grew thick with Witch Hazel’s grin, He tripped on a root and tumbled right in Down a slope of ferns, green as envy’s face, Where the moss sang jazz and the spores kept pace. He rolled past a squirrel who played the kazoo, Past a fox in socks sipping nettle brew, Till he landed kerplunk by a bubbling pot, Where the Witch Panda stirred her spellful lot. She wore a robe stitched from bamboo dreams, Her cauldron hissed with musical steam. She tossed in frog spawn, a bat polished bright, And a Son House record “Death Letter” for plight. The brew went boom, the brew went bang, It fizzed like funk in a gospel gang. She ladled a sip to the dazed young Rich, Who drank it down with a hiccup and tw...

Maharaja Blues at Red Lion, Leek

Image
Venue: Red Lion, Leek, Staffordshire   Address : 7 Market Place, Leek, Staffordshire, ST13 5HH, United Kingdom. Date : Saturday 4th October 2025 Time : 3.30pm Free entry, part of Leek Blues and Americana Festival  Feathers at the Red Lion  by The Nonsense Chronicler Pink Flamingo  I flew into Leek on a Saturday breeze,   Wearing socks made of jazz and a monocle of cheese.   The Red Lion roared in a pub-shaped grin,   And Maharaja Blues were tuning within.   A tiger tapped rhythms on a marmalade drum,   While a fox hummed blues through a harmonica thumb.   The rooster strummed chords with a resonant cluck,   And the bear played a bass made of luck.   I perched on a pint, sipped a riff from the air,   While conformity sulked in its sensible chair.   “Too loud,” it muttered, “Too wild, too pink!”   But I danced on the bar and spilled thoughts in ink.  ...

A lost Picasso timeslips to a student house in Liverpool

Image
The news as reported by the Nonsense Chronicler Pink Flamingo  “Darlings! A revelation from the Cubist cosmos! A lost Picasso—reborn in flamingo form—has pirouetted into our plane! Three divine dancers, all beak and bravado, captured mid-sashay in fractured geometry and unapologetic plumage. It’s not just art—it’s avian transcendence!" It is believed to be from Picasso's very brief 'pink' period. It lasted 1 painting. The painting suddenly appeared last Tuesday morning at a student house in Liverpool.  The Discovery In Liverpool’s quiet student flat,   Where toast burns slow and socks fall flat,   A shimmer split the kitchen air—   A portal pulsed beside the chair.   From folds of time, with feathers flared,   Three flamingos, boldly squared,   Danced out in hues of blush and grace,   Picasso’s dream with beaky face.   Their limbs were lines, their wings askew,   In fractured pink and cob...

Happy Birthday Blues, a tale of mystery, mystique and Fractured Fractals!

Image
The Fractured Fractals, space and time's greatest ever Country &  Galactic  Band, had just shot through the Martian Time Slip on their return from their latest galactic tour when they chanced upon a pink flash in the horizon.  Training his Æthergazer into the distance Tigris Felinus Maximus was amazed to see what he saw, triggering the 6th Dimensional transducer, he quickly took a series of photographs. Piqued by this, The Fractured Fractals followed the pink flight path only to lose it briefly in a mid afternoon thunderstorm.  The storm itself was some of the worst weather they had ever encountered on Planet Earth. There were times when Quackus Vituloanatidus Multiplumus played plaintive tunes on his celestial violin fearing for their life. Fearing the very worst The Fractured Fractals burst into song playing out their greatest back catalogue and creating some of the most amazing notes ever played whilst their ship was buffeted around, frazzled and burnt by...
